Ryan Novaczyk is the CFO and president of New Perspective Senior Living in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In this position, Ryan Novaczyk oversees operations for all 22 of the company's senior living communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. For many, making the decision to move into a senior living community is a difficult one. Many seniors fear that they will lose their independence and that such a move will negatively affect their enjoyment of life. However, research has shown that senior communities actually increase a person's quality of life in three areas. Older adults with the highest levels of happiness are those who regularly socialize, exercise, work, and volunteer. Additionally, those with strong social relationships tend to live longer and experience lower rates of depression and higher cognitive abilities. Finally, older adults who are physically active experience lower rates of high blood pressure and coronary heart disease as well as higher levels of functional health. Senior living communities provide potential benefits in all three of these areas over the living situations of most older adults.
