Memory care programs are designed to meet the specific needs of patients with Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. These programs offer 24-hour trained staff support and set a routine schedule to help residents manage their day. Memory care facilities often resemble private homes to help the residents feel more comfortable. The communities also offer activities such as brain games and exercises that stimulate cognitive development. The features of memory care facilities, such as wall colors and signs, help individuals with memory issues navigate more easily. Safety systems are also in place to reduce the likelihood of residents wandering out of the facility on their own. |
