After earning a BA in financial management from the University of St. Thomas and a UMBC Certificate in finance, senior housing, and care from the Erickson School, Ryan Novaczyk became the president and CFO of New Perspective Senior Living, a company that provides purposeful living situations for seniors. Ryan Novaczyk has also achieved success as a speaker, giving presentations at conferences for organizations such as Argentum, the largest senior living association in the United States. Argentum has encouraged its members to supply quality residence and care services since its founding in 1990. As part of this mission, Argentum offers several professional events every year, including its Senior Living Executive Conference & Expo. The 2019 conference will take place April 15-17 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The conference will include talks from industry experts, and the expo will showcase products and services from leading senior-care providers. Since 2008, Ryan Novaczyk has guided New Perspective Senior Living, a company that operates over 20 senior living communities across Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin. Also active in the field, Ryan Novaczyk holds membership in industry groups such as the Wisconsin Assisted Living Association (WALA). A pioneering professional organization in the assisted living and senior living industry, WALA has been serving its membership since 1994. Over the years, the organization has grown and evolved into a leading force in Wisconsin’s assisted living sector, providing its members with unparalleled resources while serving as the state partner to Argentum, a leading national senior living organization. To better serve its members, WALA provides a range of services, educational opportunities, and benefits. Among other benefits, WALA offers members access to low-cost liability insurance. Liability insurance is more important than ever for assisted-living facility operators, as managed care organizations are increasingly requiring providers to carry it. However, this insurance can be prohibitively expensive for small facilities. WALA has partnered with M3 Insurance to offer small operators the opportunity to buy this insurance at an affordable rate. To qualify, companies must be members of WALA and operate a facility with 10 beds or less. To learn more about this program, please visit ewala.org. For the past decade, senior care sales and finance specialist Ryan Novaczyk has served as the CFO and president of New Perspective Senior Living, which manages a portfolio of 22 senior living communities. Ryan Novaczyk enhances his professional expertise in the senior care sector through his participation in several industry organizations. He is a member of the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care’s Data Analytics Committee, where experts convene to discuss the potential for big data to improve care and housing quality. Almost a quarter of all people worldwide will be over the age of 65 by 2050. The cost of senior healthcare is projected to grow as the population ages. As a result, many technology companies have shifted their focus to digital innovations that will lower the overall cost of healthcare. For example, digitized patient medical records are enabling healthcare providers to transfer important medical information quickly, accurately, and securely between hospitals and doctors and convey test results and treatment options to patients. Reduced errors, quicker diagnoses, and reduced communication gaps all lower the overall cost of care. Additionally, healthcare technology developers have released mobile applications that help patients manage chronic illnesses such as diabetes through digitized glucose monitors and cardiovascular conditions through the use of heart monitors. With these technologies, patients can manage much of their own care with minimal assistance from their doctors. Ryan Novaczyk is the CFO and president of New Perspective Senior Living in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In this position, Ryan Novaczyk oversees operations for all 22 of the company's senior living communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois, and Wisconsin. For many, making the decision to move into a senior living community is a difficult one. Many seniors fear that they will lose their independence and that such a move will negatively affect their enjoyment of life. However, research has shown that senior communities actually increase a person's quality of life in three areas. Older adults with the highest levels of happiness are those who regularly socialize, exercise, work, and volunteer. Additionally, those with strong social relationships tend to live longer and experience lower rates of depression and higher cognitive abilities. Finally, older adults who are physically active experience lower rates of high blood pressure and coronary heart disease as well as higher levels of functional health. Senior living communities provide potential benefits in all three of these areas over the living situations of most older adults. |
